Clothed for Battle: Put on the Full Armor Devotional

Daily Devotional

Scripture: 📖 “Put on the full armor of God. You can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” – Ephesians 6:11

Imagine stepping onto a battlefield without armor, completely exposed to the enemy’s attacks. Do you think that would be a good idea? That’s exactly what happens when we face spiritual battles without God’s protection. I wonder how many times we have started our day. We make decisions and try to lead our families without that armor. Then we wonder why we are so vulnerable to Satan’s weapons of warfare. The enemy is relentless, using doubt, fear, distraction, and temptation to weaken us. But God has not left us defenseless. I have said this to myself before and written it. We have to armor up intentionally. The Lord provides the armor, but he isn’t going to put it on for us.

TODAY is the day of our deliverance, like David defeating Goliath, the Lord will conquer your enemies. David’s enemy was the spiritual demonic realm that was fueling Goliath – that is our real enemy as well. I hope today’s devotional encourages and strengthens you for your battles. That you armor up knowing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood…our enemy is satan and his demonic realm…..BUT GOD!!!!! David rejected wearing Saul’s armor, it wasn’t tested and approved…instead he went into battle knowing he was clothed in God’s armor and power. The enemy comes at us with worldly weapons but we, just like David, come in the name of the LORD!!

Ephesians 6:11 reminds us to put on the full armor of God. To “put on” is something that requires action on our part. This isn’t a one-time act—it’s a daily decision. Read that again…it is something we need to be mindful of and do DAILY. As his mercies are made new every morning – Lamentations 3:23, so is the opportunity to armor up. We must actively choose to stand in truth. We should guard our hearts with righteousness. We must walk in peace. We hold up the shield of faith. We should wear the helmet of salvation and wield the sword of the Spirit—the Word of God. This along with prayer are our weapons of warfare. Without these particulars…we will fail. We will be lost out on the battlefield…unguarded and exposed.

Too often, we try to fight battles in our own strength…IS ANYONE ELSE GUILTY OF THIS, BESIDES ME???? Victory comes when we stand firm in God’s power, not our own (Zechariah 4:6). The enemy may attack, and he will. It’s what he’s all about 24/7. But when we are fully armored up in Christ, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

🔥 Are you, your spouse, and your children dressed for battle today? I pray we can encourage one another. We should NEVER step into the world unarmed. Let’s put on God’s armor and walk in victory together!
