A young boy once went to the zoo with his dad. As they passed the lion’s den, one of the lions let out a ferocious roar. Startled, the boy grabbed his father, covered his face, and began to cry. His father knelt down and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Through teary eyes, the little boy replied, “Don’t you see the lion?”

His father smiled and gently said, “Yes, I see the lion. But I also see the cage.”

How often do we react just like that little boy? We hear the enemy’s roar—the fear, the doubt, the lies—and we panic, forgetting that Satan is already defeated. Scripture tells us that he prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8), but he is not all-powerful. His power is limited. His defeat is sealed. Satan may prowl around “like” a roaring lion, but he is not THE LION…Jesus is the Lion of Judah…his roar makes the demons tremble!!! Don’t forget that!!!

Colossians 2:15 declares that Jesus has disarmed the powers of darkness, triumphing over them at the cross. The enemy may still roar, but his teeth have been removed. He has to work overtime to trick you into thinking he has those teeth. Too often we fear him, but the cage is locked. He can’t touch you unless you let fear, doubt, or sin give him a foothold. Anything he is allowed to do has to have passed through God’s fingers FIRST. So, know that those battles and struggles are being allowed in order to produce something in us. The key is to learn to ask the Lord to show you what he is teaching you, developing in you as you go through those things.

Here’s the thing—God has given you armor to stand against the enemy’s attacks, but He won’t put it on for you. Ephesians 6:11-12 commands us to “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Victory is already yours in Christ, but you must choose to armor up and walk in it.

So, what will you do when the enemy roars? Will you cower in fear, or will you stand firm in the truth that your Father sees the cage?

🔥 Take a moment today to pray and ask God to help you put on His armor. Let’s encourage one another to put it on, intentionally, before we even get up out of bed. The lion may roar, but the cage is locked. Stand firm and walk in victory!

Blessings to YOU,

Cassandra Lee

It’s taken me years and lots of faith to give Control to God… I have endured a lot of battles, giving things to God then taking them back…. I have given up and no matter what crosses my path,it goes to prayer and surrender… I know God is in control… I believe that and it has saved me much sorrow… Let it go, give it to God!!

Wow. A few days ago the Lord gave me this visual for one of my next paintings …. Me, fully covered in the armour, according to Ephesians 6, Jesus the Lion of Judah standing beside me as my sword is stretched forth with the defeated foe, satan tail between his legs, head down in defeat prowls around in the distance.
